Jeanette
Jeanette “…seizes the stage and audience with the love of her dance,” says Amaya. A captivating dancer of sensual strength and dramatic passion, Jeanette’s performance is a melding of American styling with classical Egyptian. Her fiery grace and fluidity of movement is demonstrated in her liquid veil and flamboyant sword numbers. Her sense of humor and play are demonstrated in her “Beledi Stick” and “authentic snake” dances. Jeanette’s transcendent range of styles from American/Egyptian Cabaret to Ethnic/Tribal makes her a dynamic entertainer for both adults and children.
Favored by Middle Eastern as well as American audiences, Jeanette’s far reaching performances have ranged from weddings to conventions, banquets to festivals making her the true dancer for all occasions! She has danced from exotic Ixtapa Mexico to even Dime Box Texas! She is usually seen performing at the University of Texas with dance troupe, Mirage, and regularly at Carousel Caravan and other local shows and venues. Yearly highlights include her dynamic shows at the International Shake & Bake Festival in New Mexico and her own sponsorship of dance conventions (“Shimmy into Spring” and “Shimmy into September”) in Austin, Texas. Dancing since 1988, Jeanette teaches at her own Full Moon Studio as well as all levels at the University of Texas at Austin. It is evident by her performance and her teaching that her philosophy is “Dance Hard. Live Easy!”
Her ongoing, extensive dance training continues with such well known names as Amaya of New Mexico, Bert Balladine of San Francisco, Mahmoud Reda of Egypt, Khedy Megateli of Algeria, and Afritah of Germany.
